About

I decided to start this blog because I’m curious about the developments of the GLBT movement, and how they affect society in general. We are all affected by gender stereotypes, and I think that the more we advance in ending stereotypes the better for society as a whole.

If we go back in time a little, say about 20-30 years, we’d notice that the gay movement had very little support from the mainstream. They were shunned, ridiculed, even killed for holding preferences that set them apart from the normal stereotype. Nowadays they are more broadly accepted, but there’s still work to be done to ensure they are treated with equality. Health benefits for domestic partners in government institutions, their consumer nature, and whether this is the next big social movement are issues on the top of my list.

Ultimately my goal is to speak out for the GLBT minority, but also to tie their issues to women’s lib, racial discrimination, opportunities hindered by ethnicity, etc. Feel welcome to comment or suggest ideas regarding this theme.
